A Lifelong Love for The Sea...

Growing up on the turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay, Denis Renuart seemed destined for a life tied to the ocean. As a boy, he spent sountless hours fishing, diving, and exploring the Florida coast with his brothers. Those early days, netting shrimp by gas lantern and dip net, and cooking with Grandma, planted the seeds of a lifelong passion for high-quality, honest seafood.

The Journey Begins...

In 1984, Denis took his first big step into the seafood industry, leasing a crab processing plant on Maryland's Eastern Shore with a close friend. Together, they set out to cook and sell Jonah crab—an underutilized species —without chemicals or additives. That experience ignited Denis's mission to create seafood products that are clean, wholesome, and full of flavor. From there, his journey took him around the globe—building a fish plant in Guyana and consulting on seafood projects in Costa Rica, Venezuela, and indonesia. And today, we are proud that all of our production remains based exclusively in the USA.

Then came a pivotal moment: “Uncle Denis,” his nephew asked, “can you make it gluten-free so I can eat them?


A New Chapter: The Shrimp Burger

In 2017, Denis returned to his roots and began experimenting with old family recipes for crab and shrimp cakes. Then came a pivotal moment: “Uncle Denis,” his nephew asked, “can you make it gluten-free so I can eat them? ”That simple question sparked a big idea — to create a shrimp burger that was not only delicious, but also gluten-free, keto-friendly, and made with natural ingredients. Months of testing and tweaking led to a breakthrough: the first gluten-free shrimp burger of its kind.

With the vision clear, Denis teamed up with partner Paul Jasinski to launch Big Little Shrimp — a company dedicated to bringing healthy, sustainable, and seriously scrumptious shrimp creations to market. What started with one burger has grown into a full line of flavors...

Our production plant is SQF Certified and regularly inspected by the FDA, USDC, and U.S. Armed Forces, consistently earning excellent ratings for sanitation, food safety, and quality. We also personally inspect our suppliers' processing facilities to ensure they meet our exacting standards for ethical and sustainable practices.
